Seamstress pinning the bodice of a wedding gown during a fitting

Step by step

The atelier process

  1. 01

    Enquire

Send the form or call us. Tell us your wedding date, where your gown is from and what you would like to change. We will arrange a time for your first visit.

  2. 02

    Free consultation

Bring your gown. We look at it with you, talk through what you have in mind and explain what is possible for its fabric and construction — and what we recommend. Nothing starts until you are happy with the plan.

  3. 03

    Pinning & planning

With your shoes and undergarments on, we pin the changes on you: waist and bodice, length, straps or sleeves, bustle points. Every change is planned around your shape and the way you will move.

  4. 04

    Fittings

Follow-up fittings let us check the fit, length and comfort as the work progresses, and fine-tune until it feels right — walking, sitting, raising your arms.

  5. 05

    Final fitting

A last check of everything together, with your shoes and accessories, so you know exactly how your gown will feel on the day.

  6. 06

    Collect your gown

Your gown is ready to wear — fitted to you, not to a size chart.

Before your fitting

What to bring

Book as early as you can once you have your gown, and tell us your date — we plan your fittings around it. If your wedding is close, call us: rush alterations are available.

  • Your gown

And any pieces that go with it: belt, detachable sleeves or straps, veil.

  • Your wedding shoes

The hem is set to their exact height, so please bring the pair you will wear.

  • Your undergarments

What you plan to wear on the day, so the bodice and fit sit correctly.

  • Your ideas

Photos or sketches of what you like help us understand the look you want.
